June Macaroon...

Contrary to what Michael believes, our first born daughter will not bear this name. However, I did make macaroons this week -- a special request for one of Michael's co-workers.

Petite Choux Chantilly

I love that the name of these cream puffs literally translates to "small chantilly cabbages," because if you have ever had one, you know they taste nothing like cabbage! So, here is my latest baking creation. I especially enjoyed making the whipped cream, I finally got to use my Kitchenaid on the highest setting! Bon appetite!

El cuchillo, la cuchara, el tenedor

This week I made a pineapple upside down cake. Not the most attractive specimen, but the carmelization of the brown sugar turned out wonderfully, and I'd have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. Michael however, is not a pineapple fan at all, but being the good sport he is, he gave it a try -- with the pineapple removed.

Yum!

Michael loves to cook, which is a good thing because I really do not enjoy it at all. However, I really love to bake yummy goodies. These are my latest creations - mini cheesecakes, one cherry the other chocolate chip. We sampled them, and I really hate to brag, but they were awesome. I was quite nervous about tackling cheesecake, but after this fabulous first experience, I will definitely try it again.

¡Bienvenido!

Frustrated with school, work, and (mainly) textamerica, I abruptly cancelled my blog a couple weeks ago. Obviously, this is the new Blogger version and so far I am much happier here (though it could be because I finished my first summer session!). This reincarnated Social Cognition will likely be similar to my old blog, but will focus a lot more on my baking creations. Enjoy!
